In Vitro Fertilisation or IVF is a process in which the ovum( egg ) of a female and the sperm of a male partner is fertilized in a lab and the developed human embryo is then pushed into the uterus of the female partner for conception. IVF is used to treat infertility. Various treatments are advised by the IVF Specialist depending upon the causes of infertility.

Surrogacy is a type of IVF procedure. In some cases of infertility Surrogacy is the only option to get one’s, own child. In surrogacy, instead of transferring the developed embryo into the uterus of the mother, it is pushed into the uterus of a different woman. Such a case is known as surrogacy. Surrogacy is of two types again. Gestational and Traditional. Surrogacy in India offers gestational surrogacy. Surrogacy is an arrangement supported by a legal document where a woman (surrogate mother) agrees to be pregnant and bear the child of intending parents who cannot carry their child to term due to medical complications. In this case the woman carries the child to its term and hands over the child to the biological parents. Such women are known as Gestational carriers or birth mothers. The surrogate woman has no biological connection with the baby.
Surrogacy is recommended to couples having the following medical conditions:

  • Uterine issues of the intending mother
